    The course addresses key debates concerning three interconnected areas – the role of individual (agency), social structures and institution. The first part of the course focuses on the discussion of various approaches to the analysis of social inequalities and key concepts and topic addressed in the research on social stratification and mobility. Specific attention is paid to the reflection of the role of selected social institutions (family, education system, labour market...) in the reproduction and legitimization of social inequalities.
