On-line Work for Week 10:

This week's on-line work starts with revision of the previous two lessons and then focuses on Unit 9 - reading, vocabulary, listening and grammar practice.

1) There is a Progress test Units 7-8 but before taking it have a look at the Vocabulary and grammar review Unit 7 and Unit 8 on pp. 86-87. The activity in the textbook is just for you, check the answers with the key. You do not need to enter them anywhere. The obligatory part of the revision is the progress test.

2) Unit 9 - Reading pp. 90-92, you can start with the exercises 1-3 and think about the answers for yourselves, The obligatory part are the exercises: 90/4, 91/5 - read the Exam advice - Matching headings, 92/6 - read the Exam advice - Sentence completion, 92/7 - read the Exam advice - Pick from a list. Enter the answers of the obligatory exercises into the Complete IELTS - Unit 9 - Exercises from the online work.

3) Unit 9 - Vocabulary pp. 92-93 - ex. 1 and 2. Enter the answers into the Complete IELTS - Unit 9 - Exercises from the online work.

4) Unit 9 - Listening (within the section Speaking) - pp. 93-94 - Exercises 93/3 and 94/7. Enter the answers into the Complete IELTS - Unit 9 - Exercises from the online work. The recordings are provided below.

5) Unit 9 - The passive - grammar practice - Extra material (see below). In this extra material, you also find some explanations. There is also link to BBC Learning English where you can also read the explanations and where you have some more examples, as well as some practice. The BBC Learning English website is not obligatory. It is here only to help you. The obligatory part are the exercises in the extra material (A-F) - these need to be entered into the Complete IELTS - Unit 9 - Exercises from the online work.

Exercises for you to enter your online work:

There are two exercises because the last one from the extra material on the passive was not included together with the rest of the exercises by accident in the first exercise, therefore there is the extra one. Please, enter your answers there.
