Section outline

    • In this week's lesson we focused on listening test practice. As there are only multiple-choice and short-answer questions in the listening part of the B2 exam, the focus is on those types of listening questions only, and because the B2 exam listening part takes inspiration in IELTS listening test - section 4, there are two sample section 4 IELTS tests with multiple-choice and short-answer questions. And finally, there is one more recording with some more tips on how to prepare for a listening test. You can listen to any recordings as many times as you wish, as this is a practice. However, do not forget that in the B2 exam you listen twice and in the IELTS exam only once.

      1) At first there is a listening exercise on some advice/tips how to approach multiple-choice and short-answer questions - complete the text - short-answer questions. - we did this during the lesson so if you couldn't be present at the lesson, make sure you go through this. The ones who were present either in face-to-face lesson or online can return to this to revise.

      2) Practice - IELTS sample listening test 1 - we didn't manage to go through this test during the lesson. It is, therefore, optional, but still it is advisable for everybody to have look at this test as well.

      3) Practice - IELTS sample listening test 2 - we took this test during the lesson. Again if you could not be present, please, take this test and practise. If you were present, still you can practise more and retake it.

      4) Some more tips on listening practice. - there is no task, it is only for you to listen to some more tips.
