Assignments: How does the natural environment of Kaluli people influence their culture and music (discuss three examples from Feld text)? Can you find interconnections between Schafer’s and Feld’s texts? How do you think today’s urban environment influences music (in places you live in)? Listen to the local Prague soundscapes (go on a sound walk around Prague): what are some of the keynotes and soundmarks of Prague? Do different Prague parts have different soundscapes (can you recognize a part of the city, any city, by its sounds)? (all together one paragraph)
