The course explores the genealogy of the understanding of work in capitalist economy as wage labor and subsequent feminist criticism. It relies on rich tradition of feminist movement and thinking concerned with the socioeconomic situation of women in capitalism. The course studies various gendered kinds of work, future of work, as well as labor organizing. The goal of the course is to learn how to apply the academic themes discussed to current affairs and everyday life situations and to familiarize oneself with various disciplinary and methodological approaches in the research of work.
