    The course aims to familiarize students with gender as a methodological category of literary analysis both on the level of the content of literary works and their reception by audience, and on the level of literary publishing industry. It focuses on feminist perspectives of representation in the literary canon, authorship, and literature as a means of gender socialization. The course further employs close reading of selected texts and assesses literary criticism and various forms of subversion of the gender order and the order of signification through literature, discourse and language from a gender-sensitive perspective.
