1. Course Description
HUMAN LANGUAGE and MIND deals with psychological and cognitive aspects of language as a key to human mind and creativity; interrelation of language, thought and brain; language in mediating experience, remembering and creating meaning; the instinctive, emotional and rational in cognition; pre-linguistic cognition of hominids; psychology of "global" language and mind; language acquisition in children and other issues. The course provides an alternative perspective on language as foundational to human culture and mind.

Teaching methodology: HUMAN LANGUAGE and MIND is a seminar introducing diverse topics through presentations, discussion and video documentaries. The focus is on posing questions and analyzing readings.
