Session 2 (36 pages): The Realist International Political Economy Approach: Dominance, Decline, Return?

Here we'll be moving from a general look at IPE to a focus on the realist approach, looking at both the decline of realism beginning in the 1970s and the evidence of its possible return to a dominant position in world politics more recently.

I encourage you to engage with these readings on Perusall, I'll be making comments and answering questions on there from tomorrow until the day before this session. Also, remember, after the first session there is the possibility of a surprise quiz on the readings for any of the other weeks, so I encourage you to try to read them beforehand.
