Introductory Video and Presentation with Comments

This week's focus is on Unit 6 in our coursebook and its topic is "People".

As you are now used to, watch the introduction video - A Personality Test (if necessary, look at the tapescript - but again, try to watch at least once without the help of the tapescript). Then watch and study the presentation - grammar in this week are comparison and present perfect with focus on experiences and its usage with "just, already and yet". If necessary have a look at the Grammar Guidebook (see the links).

After you study properly the materials in this section, you can procede to the exercises.

Zaměření tohoto týdne je na lekci 6 z naší učebnice a její tématem jsou "Lidé".

Jak jste již nyní zvyklí, podívejte se na úvodní video - Test osobnosti (pokud budete potřebovat, máte k dispozici přepis - určitě ale zkuste nejprve shlédnout video be pomoci přepisu). Poté se podívejte a prostudujte si prezentaci - gramamtikou tento týden je stupňování a předpřítomný čas se zaměřením na jeho užití při vyjadřování zkušeností a se slovíčky "just (právě), already (již) a yet (ještě ne nebo už). Pokud budete potřebovat pomoc gramatické příručky, máte zde odkazy na relevantní kapitoly.

Poté, co si vše řádně prostudujete materiály v této sekci, pokračujte cvičeními, které následují.

Now it is time for you to watch the presentation with comments on grammar introduced in the introductory video "A Personality Test" and which is dealt with in Unit 6.

Before you open the presenation, print (or at least open) the material for print (see below) so that you can work on the tasks you will be asked to during the presentation.

Nyní se podívejte na prezentaci s komentáři ke gramatice, která byla představena v úvodním videu "Osobnostní test" a kterou se zabývá lekce 6.

Před tím, než si otevřete prezentaci, vytiskněte si (nebo alespoň otevřete) materiál k tisku (viz níže), abyste mohli během prezentace pracovat na úkolech, ke kterým budete vyzváni.

Pokud budete potřebovat další materiál ke studiu, využijte Gramatickou příručku (viz odkazy níže).

Poté, co si vše řádně nastudujete, přejděte ke cvičením v následující sekci.

The presentation is converted into a mp4 video, therefore you do not need and/or cannot move between slides. It takes about 45 minutes. There are 3, or rather 4 parts: the introduction, example stentences (start at ca. 1:59), comparison (start at ca. 6:03) and present perfect (start at ca. 29:45). Please try not to cheat and do not skip any parts of the presentation. The times given are here for you if you want to return to the presentation later.

Prezentace je konvertována do videa ve formátu mp4, proto se již nemusíte a/nebo nemůžete pohobyvat mezi snímky. Trvá přibližně 45 minut. Skládá se ze tří (resp. čtyř) částí: úvod, příkladové věty (začátek v cca 1:59), stupňování (začátek v cca 6:03) a předpřítomný čas (začátek v cca 29:45). Prosím snažte se nepodvádět a nepřeskakujte jakoukoliv část prezentace. Časy uvedené k jednotlivým částem slouží k tomu, kdybyste se chtěli případně k prezentaci později vrátit.

Exercises - Unit 6

The Exercise 1 practises comparison in three tasks, time limit for this exercise is 30 minutes. The other exercise practises the present perfect simple in four tasks and the time limit here is 40 minutes. Make sure, you have got enough time before you start the exercises. All the tasks are short answers so be really careful with the spelling.

Cvičení 1 procvičuje stupňování ve třech úkolech, časový limit u tohoto cvičení je 30 minut. Druhé cvičení procvičuje předpřítomný prostý čas ve 4 úkolech a časový limit zde je 40 minut. Ujistěte se tedy, že máte dostatek času před tím, než začnete na cvičeních pracovat. Všechny úkoly jsou vpisované odpovědi, proto dávejte pozor na pravopis.

The first topic for this week's vocabulary are adjectives for desribing character. In the following exercise you will find some practice of the particular vocabulary and some activities related to the topic of personality and personality tests. Before you open the exercise 3 you can go to the Dictionary (see the link below). There is no time limit.

Prvním tématem, co se slovní zásoby týče, pro tento týden jsou přídavná jména popisující osobnost. V následujícím cvičení najdete procvičení této slovní zásoby a také nějaké aktivity vztahující se k tématu osobnosti a osobnostních testů. Před otevřením cvičení 3 si můžete zobrazit slovníček (viz odkaz níže). Není nastaven časový limit.

Another vocabulary topic is family. The words related to family should not be new to you, but still if you feel you need to revise them, go to the Dictionary (see the link below). In the following exercise 4 you will find some listening, therefore there is no time limit again.

Dalším tématem slovní zásoby je rodina. Slovíčka spojená s rodinou by pro vás již neměla být nová, přesto pokud si chcete slovíčka zopakovat, otevřete si slovíček (viz odkaz níže). V následujícím cvičení 4 je i poslech, proto znovu není nastaven časový limit.

After you pass the exercise 4, the following file opens for you to practise the listening a bit more with the help of an audioscript. You can now listen to the recording again and follow the text at the same time. 

Poté, co úspěšně splníte cvičení 4, otevře se vám následujíc soubor, abyste mohli poslech procvičovat o trošku více za pomoci přepisu nahrávky. Můžete si nyní nahrávku znovu poslechnout a současně číst text.

The final part of this vocabulary section focuses on adjective prefixes. There is no interactive exercise, but still do study the following page properly and try to do your best when asked to complete one task.

Poslední část této sekce se slovní zásobou je zaměřena na předpony přídavných jmen. Není zde žádné interaktivní cvičení, přesto ale prostudujte si následující stránku pořádně a pokuste se co nejlépe vypracovat zadaný úkol.

You can either print them, if you prefer working with paper version, or if you feel fine with the electronic version, you do not need to print. However, bear in mind that you will be working online which can complicate the work with e-version of the copy.

Na následující konzultaci si připravte následující materiály. Buď si je můžete vytisknout, pokud se vám lépe pracuje s papírovou verzí, nebo pokud se cítíte jistí v práci s elektronickou verzí, tisknout nemusíte.
