Week 7 (11 Nov): Mapping and discussing literature - bibliographic review outline I (Tiago Gomes Lapa)
Section outline
-
During this seminar, selected literature reviews and feedback provided by peers will be discussed.
In your literature review outlines, please identify the key literature related to your topics, theoretical framework and, if appropriate, national contexts. Please try to anticipate how you plan to structure your literature review and what are the key arguments/concepts that you are planning to discuss. Nothing long is expected at this stage (1 or 2 pages are fine) - the aim is to map the scholarship and area of studies you will discuss in your theses, and also to later frame your research design. Please note that research objectives and questions must be formulated against the literature review.
Make sure to be ready to present in person the key ideas of your literature reviews in around 5-10 minutes (PowerPoint is not requested). Feel free to use the seminar also to discuss possible concerns and questions you might have concerning the development of your thesis - the seminars aim to provide you with constructive feedback and foster open and safe dialogue.
Please make sure to upload the last version of your literature review.
For peers: make sure to read in advance the proposals and prepare your feedback.
