Hello, this is my reading instruction:

Please

1. Study the first 2 materials (Myth-Legend-Fable and Aarne-Thompson-Uther Tale Type Index) and think about "what is the position of traditional fairytale (in a sense that we have discussed) in folk oral tradition generally".

2. Read the Week 2 reading (selection of European fairytales) and prepare answers to these questions:

1) Which one of the fairytales gave you the strongest impression and why?

2) Can you describe overall impression that the particular groups of fairy tales (based on their origin) made to you? Can you describe a few features  typical for each group? Answer systematically up to these points:

a) German fairytales

b) Russian fairytales

c) Czech fairytales

d) Gypsy fairytale

You don´t need to submit your answers. Write it down just for you and be ready to discuss it in class.
