So far, we have dealt with ethical rules that apply to virtually every field of science, from astrophysics to history, from virology to economics. But in many areas of research, there are special ethical considerations - e.g. when we study human beings (and more so vulnerable groups as children or special needs individuals). Researchers use tools such as the attached checklist to consider ethically sensitive aspects of their research.

See which areas are included in the checklist. Will your thesis touch any of these areas? If so, consider the implications for the design of your thesis.
