Usability Testing In-Class Activity Directions

1. In pairs, review your assigned Google Scholar tutorial.

What is Google Scholar - https://library.shsu.edu/research/guides/tutorials/googlescholar/

Create a Google Scholar Profile - https://guides.osu.edu/researchimpactchallenge/googlescholar

2.  Create a Usability Test for this Tutorial:

Develop three realistic (task-based) scenarios to test the usability of this tutorial in terms of:

Navigation, purpose, and language

Include three, general follow up questions:

What worked well?

What was frustrating?

Any other feedback you would like to share?

 3. Conduct your usability testing with the other pair:

Exchange people from the pairs

Conduct your usability test with the person from the other pair (each person gets a turn)

After both websites are tested, return to the breakout room with your original team member.

Discuss what you found out from your usability testing

 4. Report your findings

Share your findings with the group, along with the actions you might take based on these findings (if this was your tutorial)
