an anastomosis between a. colica media (=middle colic artery)(branch of a. mesenterica sup.) and a. colica sinistra (=left colic artery)(branch of a. mesenterica inf.)

• superiorly: inguinal ligament
• medially: adductor longus muscle (its lateral margin)
