1 What was new or interesting to you in the article on p. 71?

The most interesting part of the article was learning that even primates like gorillas can deceive others intentionally.

2. What things do people generally lie about?

People most often lie about their emotions. Many people have trouble showing their vulnerability and therefore lie.

3. Why do people lie? What advantage do they gain from lying?

People lie for different reasons, such as avoiding trouble or improving their social status by deceiving others.

4. Are all lies equally wrong/ bad, or is lying sometimes justified?

Not all lies are equally bad; while some lies can be harmless or even necessary in certain situations, others can have serious consequences.

I agree with your opinion on question number 4. Some merciful lies make people sometimes happier than the truth because they can protect somebody´s feelings.

I agree with your answer to the third question. It also occurred to me as a follow-up that if people lie frequently, there is a risk of them becoming chronic liars.
