    • Learn to read the transcribed text fluently.

    • This week you will practise transcribing longer words. However, you must take into account all vowels in the word at once.

      There is always only one correct answer.

    • Look at your vowels again. Analyse your pronunciation focusing on /e æ ʌ ɒ ɑː/. How do you say these vowels? Are there any systematic shifts in your pronunciation?

      Which accent of English are you aiming for? (e.g., General American, Standard BrE …) Do you pronounce the vowels as speakers of this variety do?
