Active participation in seminars.
Pronunciation check (mastering various segmental and prosodic features).
Final credit test with at least 60 % success rate (multiple-choice questions and allophonic transcription).
You must finish all requirements within the academic year in which you start the course (by September).

Download the file and learn to read the transcribed text fluently (as if it were a normal text). Your skills will be checked next week.

This week you will practise transcribing simple words (focusing on vowels). There is always only one correct answer.

The seminar work is optional. However, it is highly recommended, as it will help you improve your pronunciation skills. You will be listening to selected aspects of your own speech. Before we start, please download PRAAT (software for phonetics).
