This course will explore the history of continental Europe from the end of the Second World till early 1990s. The primary goal of this course is to consider political, social and economic development in selected European countries. It will also focus on European reconstruction after the Second World War, the confrontation of East and West, the collapse of communism and the end of the Cold War, or the disintegration of Yugoslavia. The course will be based on series of lectures, discussions and readings.
