Exploring Arts and Visual Culture
 is a new course offered at the Language Centre of the Faculty of Arts in order to provide more opportunities for students to develop and practice their English language skills while exploring topics related to arts and visual culture.

 

Amount of units: 1 x 2 lessons per week (1 semester)

Objective: The objective of this interdisciplinary course is the enhancement of the English language competence through reading of academic texts, examining visual materials, their comprehension and discussion related to the selceted topics. The course is also focused on developing specific vocabulary and presentation skills in students.
The course is taught in the English language and thus requires the B2 level in students. The course is suitable for regular as well as foreign (Erasmus) and doctoral students. 
Program: Through a selection of texts, activities and audiovisual materials a number of topics from the fields of visual culture, visual methods and visual arts will be introduced. Also, the language structures and vocabulary related to the content of individual lessons will be discussed.
